Dragon Boat Festival

The fifth day of the fifth lunar month is the traditional Chinese festival known as the Dragon Boat Festival. A tradition that's over 2000 years old and still thrilling today. The story begins with Qu Yuan, a loyal poet who drawned himself to protest correption.Locals rushed out in boats to find him, beating drums and throwing rice to scare away fik. That rescue mission? It became a race-and a legand. Today, it's not about history. It's speed. It's teamwork. It's pure excitement. Drums beat like thunder Cars slice the water in perfect rhythm. The crowd goes wild. From ancient rivers to modern cities, dragon boat racing is now a global sport and a proud sysbol of Chinese culture. So next time you hear that beat, remember it's not just a race. It’s a story of loyalty, legacy and the powder of unity. 

Our key traditions on Dragon boat day is dragon boar racing, eating zongzi and hanging aicao and calamus leaves to ward off evil spirits and disease, wearing perfumed sachets and drinking xionghuang wine for purification. Among them I like eating Zongzi the best. Pyramid-shaped glutinous rice dumplings, wrapped in bamboo leaves, with fillings like red bean, pork, or salted egg yolk. Southern China favors savory versions; northerners prefer sweet. While honoring ancient roots, the festival today emphasizeds family reuniions and cultural pride.
